All Basic Roblox Controls for Beginners

Roblox is a game that has made it big around the world. It was first created by David Baszucki and Erik Cassel in 2004. Roblox is also known as one of the largest social platforms for user-generated games with more than 64 million active monthly users (as of 2016). There are so many features to Roblox that it can be a bit confusing for beginners. The controls, in whole, are actually easy to learn but mastering all of them is another story. In this article, I will discuss about the basic controls in Roblox and how they work in the game.

The important thing to remember in playing Roblox is that the controls are the same no matter what device you’re using. You may be playing from a computer or from a mobile phone, but the control that you will be applying is consistent. One important thing to take note before we begin: In this article, I will use left click in context of clicking on the mouse and right click in context of tapping on a mobile device’s screen.

Basic controls:

Roblox controls for the mouse are basically all about clicking. If you’ve played other games before, you might have become familiar with the click and point control scheme of things. This is also what makes playing Roblox so easy because it involves the same concept.

– WASD

The arrow keys make you move around the game. W is Forward, S is Backwards, A and D are left to right. Another way of moving that I like using is “Move mouse to edge screen”

This helps me move because I don’t have an Xbox controller to use and I just use my mouse. This way you can move pretty fluidly if your good enough at using it. Controls for actions:

-Spacebar

This controls many different things in roblox such as jumping, grabbing a hat or a jetpack if equipped, shooting a gun, etc. You might be wondering how to jump but there’s more than one kind of jump in roblox.

-Shift is sprinting and walking backwards.

Sprinting allows you to run faster than walking but it uses stamina so be careful when sprinting everywhere.

Here are the controls for Roblox on mouse:

Move your cursor around the screen to point to different areas. Left click – this is used in various functions, mainly it is used in dragging something or clicking an object/player/button. You can also choose an option by left clicking on a drop-down menu. Right click – this is used in various functions too. You can also choose an option by right clicking on a drop-down menu or open the chat bar. Scroll wheel – you can use the scroll wheel to zoom in and out on your character, items, etc.

In Roblox, you will need to position yourself properly depending on what you are doing. This means that the player will need to be facing towards where your mouse cursor is pointing to.

Movement controls:

There are different ways of moving around in Roblox, depending on what kind of device you’re using, but basically they all work similarly.

On a computer or laptop, you can use the arrow keys or WASD to move around. You can use the spacebar to jump and shift to run faster.

On mobile devices, you can slide your device up for your player to jump and down for them to duck. The left part of the screen is used for moving left and right, while swiping across on the right side of the screen is used for strafing left and right.

conclusion

Please note that this tutorial only includes the basics, I might add on later but for now this is all I can do. I hope you learned something new and this helped out some beginners, feel free to post comments below on what I should add next! See you next time!
